Kite and Surf Essaouira (KSE)

Are you the owner?

What you are paying for: three formats, the same kit

KSE sells kitesurfing in blocks of 1 to 10 hours, in three formats. Group lessons are the cheapest: €30 an hour, €49 for 2 hours, €145 for 6 hours, per person. At that price, two students share one set of kit, and the lesson runs without a walkie-talkie. Semi-private puts two students with one instructor, at €80 each for 2 hours. A private lesson costs €60 an hour, €120 for 2 hours and €330 for 6 hours (per person, prices checked on 25 October 2026).

Every format includes the kite, bar, board, harness, wetsuit, helmet and vest. Each session starts with a briefing: wind direction, the riding zone, safety rules, kite size and a kit check. A typical day opens the base at 09:30, goes on the water at 10:30 and starts again at 14:00.

One figure is unclear. The lessons page says groups take four students at most, while the About and Team pages cap them at three for kitesurfing. Ask before you pay: with one set of kit between two, it decides how long you actually fly. Our view: a group suits the first hours of kite control. When you are working on the waterstart, compare it with a private lesson, €120 for 2 hours.

Where the base is, and how to get there

The base is at “N 7, Beach Residence, P2201”, plus code F6WP+8W3: on the sand, 2 km as the crow flies south of Place Moulay Hassan. From the medina, allow half an hour on foot along Essaouira's main beach, at 4.5 km/h.

On the map, that point lands on a club building under another name. Ask the school to send its location on WhatsApp before your first lesson. For parking and the taxi fare from the medina, ask on +212 697 652 466. For families and groups, the school can also arrange a transfer from Essaouira-Mogador airport, about 18 km away, price not given.

Who it suits, and what to know before booking

Kitesurfing usually starts at 12, depending on build, and you need to be able to swim 25 to 50 m. The school reckons on 8 to 12 hours, often over 4 to 7 days, to reach basic independence. In a group, the 8-hour block costs €190 and the 10-hour block €235. With no wind, the session is moved or swapped for another activity, and refunded if neither is possible. It is not charged in that case.

A single day's lesson is paid when you book or on site. A course or a stay needs a 30% deposit. Cancel more than 30 days ahead and you get everything back. Between 30 and 7 days, half the deposit is kept, and all of it under 7 days. You can pay cash in dirhams or euros, by bank transfer or by card.

Lessons are priced in euros only, so ask for the dirham amount if you pay cash. The legal notice, last updated on 26 May 2026, gives no company registration or tax number. The terms and conditions, dated the same day, still carry a note saying a lawyer must approve them.

The school writes that its kitesurf instructors are IKO-certified for the level they teach. On 25 October 2026, its page on the IKO register read “Center not found or temporarily unavailable”. We therefore cannot confirm its status as an IKO centre. Ask to see your instructor's IKO card, as our guide to kitesurfing in Essaouira recommends. On the same beach, Explora Watersports and Ocean Vagabond also give their prices: compare before you pay.
