About
essaouira.org is the independent guide to Essaouira, written on the ground by a newsroom based in the town. Every figure is sourced and dated.

Who publishes this site
essaouira.org is published by Glory Creation, the sole-trader business (auto-entreprise) of Mohammed Amine Aragrag, who is its publishing director. The newsroom works from Essaouira. The publisher’s and the host’s addresses are in the legal notice.
What the site is for
We bring together, in one place, what you need for a day or a stay in Essaouira: what to see, where to sleep and eat, the festival calendar, tomorrow’s wind, the journey from Marrakech or Agadir. The site is in French and English. A translated page gives the same facts in both.
How a page is made
We start from official and first-hand sources: the place’s own website, the Ministry of Culture, the Fondation nationale des musées, the Essaouira-Mogador association, the festival organisers. Listings, guides and news articles list their sources at the foot of the page, with the day we read them.
A figure that no reliable source confirms yet stays flagged on the page: it carries a “to verify” mark, or the “≈” sign for a distance or a journey time. The mark goes once the figure has been checked. A page checked on site carries the line “verified on site on”, followed by the date of the visit. Without it, the page has not yet been checked on site.
Wind forecasts come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). Every third-party photo is credited with its licence on the Photo credits page. None comes from a stock library.
Spotted a mistake, a changed opening time, a place that has closed? Write to bonjour@essaouira.org. We answer within five working days, and the page is corrected as soon as the mistake is confirmed.
How the site is funded
Advertising appears in four fixed slots only, always labelled as advertising: an image and its link, or a static panel, never a third-party script. The media kit sets out the formats.
Some booking buttons are partner links (Stay22, Travelpayouts, GetYourGuide, Viator and direct partners). The words “Partner link” appear under those buttons. If you book through them, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
Our independence
Lists and rankings are ordered by the score our editors give each place. No payment enters that calculation: a place does not move up because it has paid. No advertiser or partner pays to change a text or a ranking. essaouira.org is neither the tourist office nor a travel agency, and sells no trips.
