Hosting

The site runs on a virtual private server rented from Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. The server is located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (European Union).

Intellectual property

The texts, editorial structure, listings database and graphic elements of essaouira.org are protected by copyright and database rights. Any substantial reproduction or reuse without prior written consent is prohibited, except for short quotations that name the source and link to the original page.

Photographs are published under the licence stated for each one (mostly Creative Commons): author, licence and source are listed on the Photo credits page. Names of venues, festivals and brands belong to their respective owners and appear for information only.

Weather and climate data

Wind and weather forecasts come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway, api.met.no) under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Monthly climate normals come from three sources. Temperature, rain and rainy days are the 1991–2020 normals of the Essaouira station (60220), filed with the World Meteorological Organization by Morocco’s Directorate of Meteorology. Sunshine is the same station’s 1961–1990 mean, published by the Deutscher Wetterdienst. Wind is our own calculation on Open-Meteo’s historical series (the ERA5 reanalysis of the Copernicus Climate Change Service, then the ECMWF’s IFS model from 2017), under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Sunrise and sunset times are computed by the site. All of this is indicative: always check official sources and local professionals before going out on the water.

Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; their content is not endorsed by essaouira.org.
