What you pay for, and what is in it
La Maison des Vagues brings together four businesses run by the same hosts. The hotel, La Maison des Vagues, lets 14 rooms. L’Auberge des Vagues, on the same grounds, lets beds in three dorms. The Surf les Vagues school teaches the lessons, and L’Évasion des Vagues arranges outings. Your hosts are Chrystèle and Christophe.
The hostel package costs 650 MAD per person per day. It covers a dorm bed, breakfast, dinner, a 2-hour lesson at the school and a board to borrow all day. Bought separately, the bed costs 160 MAD, breakfast 90 MAD, half board 150 MAD and the lesson 250 MAD: the same total (prices checked on 25 October 2026). Our view: the package saves you nothing, but it adds the board for the day. Take it if you plan to surf every day.
Each of the hotel’s 14 rooms has its own bathroom, with breakfast included. They run from 550 MAD (La Dekhla, two beds) to 850 MAD a night (La Vague, La Essaouira, La Taghazout), or €51 to €79. Online booking is in dirhams. Family rooms add 100 MAD per person beyond two. La Taghazout sleeps five in two rooms. L’Appart’ des Vagues, a separate flat, costs 1,500 MAD a night for up to three, then 100 MAD per person, six at most.
The pool is open all year. The website gives two heating periods: March to November on the home page, 15 March to 15 October on the hotel page. Half board is a starter, main course and dessert, drinks extra. Full board, at 250 MAD, adds a dish from the snack bar and a soft drink.
Where it is, and how to get there
The hotel and the hostel stand on the beach road, about 400 m, as the crow flies, from the shrine at the head of Sidi Kaouki beach. The Lima Bus line 2 stop is 170 m away. The school meets you on the village’s main street, ten minutes before the lesson, 50 to 100 m from the beach.
For the airport, the hotel runs a paid taxi service with no published fare, and can arrange a hire car. Parking is on the street. Grand taxis and buses from town are covered on our Sidi Kaouki village page. If you land after dark, ask the taxi fare when you book.
Who it suits, and what to know before booking
The 650 MAD package is aimed at the solo surfer sleeping in a dorm. A couple or a family should compare it with a room and the 250 MAD lesson. The hostel keeps one dorm, La Plage, for women only. The other two, L’Océan and Le Vent, are mixed. Here, kitesurfing and windsurfing run from April to October, and surfing from November to March, when the wind often drops. The lessons are group lessons, from age 6, in French, English or Arabic. You must be able to swim. There are five pupils per instructor at most, and three at least, or the lesson is moved or refunded. Booked on CheckYeti, a lesson can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before.
At the hotel, prepaid amounts are not refunded, whichever room you book. Groups book room by room online. L’Évasion des Vagues outings are paid in cash only: bring cash with you.
