Works, pool and spa: what is still to be confirmed

The renovation was due to finish on 20 October 2026, with the hotel open throughout. On 25 October 2026 the works notice was still online, unchanged. The heated indoor pool was still closed and the outdoor pool open. The former thalassotherapy area is becoming a spa with a hammam, massages and treatments. No opening date has been published for it.

The group’s other pages have not caught up. The spa page on the MGallery site shows 09:00 to 20:00 every day, and a closure from 3 December to 31 July. The wellness page says the seawater pool is open to all from 19:30. Accor’s spa portal still describes a heated indoor seawater pool, and a treatment menu whose file dates from August 2023. Our view: do not book here for a thalassotherapy cure, as it is being replaced.

The building is an ellipse, with 117 rooms and suites on the outside and a pool and a garden in the middle. Superior rooms are 30 m² with a balcony, Luxury rooms 31 m² with a terrace facing the pool or the ocean, for up to three people. The Junior, Prestige and Opera suites run from 52 to 70 m², for four. Two room types are wheelchair accessible.

The hotel has five outlets: the Arganier breakfast buffet from 07:00 to 10:30, MBeach from 12:00 to 23:00 on the terrace or the private beach, the MPool bar from 12:00 to 17:00, La Scala in the lobby from 11:00 to 17:00, the MClub from 17:00 to midnight. Yet the Arganier was marked “currently unavailable” on 25 October 2026.

Where it is and how to get there

The hotel stands on avenue Mohamed V, on the Essaouira bay side, outside the ramparts. Place Moulay Hassan is 850 m away, an 11-minute walk. The hotel says the medina is two minutes away: for the square, allow 11 minutes. The beach is 100 m away, a 3-minute walk.

By car, the 20-space outdoor car park is included. By coach, the Supratours office is 350 m away, a 5-minute walk with a bag. The CTM stop on place du 11 Janvier is 1.6 km away, 3 minutes by road without traffic. Mogador airport is 15 km and 20 minutes by road, and the hotel offers a paid shuttle. Petit taxi fares are in our guide to getting around town.

Who it suits, and what to ask before you book

Our view: take it if you arrive by car or as a family and want to dine in the medina without a taxi. The 22 connecting rooms and the four-person suites settle the question of the children. The hotel offers babysitting and accepts pets in designated areas, on request. To compare, the Atlas Essaouira Riad Resort lies further south, 1.9 km and a 25-minute walk from the square, and the Hôtel des Îles, 450 m and a 6-minute walk from the square, completes our choice of hotels.

Before you pay, ask three questions in writing. Have the indoor pool and the new spa reopened, and at what times? Where is breakfast served, and is it in your rate? Is any work still going on near your room? The price only appears once you have chosen dates. The hotel takes cards and cash.
