Are you the owner?

Rooms, restaurants and a spa on hold

Atlas Essaouira Riad Resort went by Atlas Essaouira & Spa in March 2010. On OpenStreetMap it is still Essaouira Atlas & Spa. It is now booked through A Collection Hotels and has four types of room. The Standard is 30 m², with a king-size bed, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. The Deluxe is 40 m², looks onto the ocean and takes a third guest in its sitting area.

Two suites also face the ocean. The Ambassadeur is 80 m², with a separate bedroom and living room and a terrace. The Présidentielle is 261 m², with two bedrooms and a terrace of its own. Each suite sleeps four. A cot is lent on request. Neither the total number of rooms nor how many face the ocean, the medina or the Andalusian gardens is published.

For meals, the hotel has three restaurants and a bar. Le Safran serves Moroccan food, Les Alizés an international menu looking onto the beach and the islands, and Le Seven fish, seafood and tapas on the beach. The bar is called L’Amirauté. It also has a pool, meeting rooms and a private beach.

The spa is the thing to check. The service has been suspended since 5 October 2026, “until further notice”, yet the hotel’s main page still lists it among the facilities. Our view: if the spa is the reason for your stay, get its reopening confirmed in writing before you pay.

Where it is, and how to get there

The hotel is on avenue Mohammed V, 44000 Essaouira, the road OpenStreetMap calls boulevard Mohammed V. The bay’s beach is across the road. Place Moulay Hassan is 1.9 km away, a 25-minute walk. Le Médina Essaouira Thalassa, closer to the ramparts, is 1.1 km and a 15-minute walk to the north.

Parking is free. Essaouira-Mogador airport is 16.8 km and 28 minutes away by road without traffic. Our view: come by car, or budget for a taxi every evening you spend in the medina. A 25-minute walk back weighs on you after dinner.

Who it suits, and what to know before booking

The hotel suits families and kiters first. The Explora school is 580 m away, an 8-minute walk, and Essaouira Kite Paradise 500 m, 7 minutes. The hotel says it arranges surf, kitesurf and windsurf sessions in the bay, at Diabat and at Sidi Kaouki, without naming the school or giving a price. Our kitesurfing section covers the bay’s schools one by one.

No rates are published online as of 25 October 2026: the pages only lead to the booking form. Still unknown: whether breakfast is included, and the check-in and check-out times. Put those three questions to +212 5 29 080108 or reservation@hotelsatlas.com before you book.

Our view: choose the Atlas for the car, the children or the kite, not for life in the medina. To compare, our Essaouira hotels bring together the other addresses on the beach road, including the Hôtel des Îles, on the same bay.
